The Forsaken entry 9

Entry #9

Suishou cast a final glance around; taking in the white cracked walls of the apartment, the matted green carpet with the occasional spot showing the bare wooden floor beneath, before returning her glance to Lucian as he pushed the white door open in an overly dramatic fashion.

"With no hesitation..." Lucian calmly started, "may I present to you, the forsaken children."

Slowly, a group of pokemon poked their heads through the door, before stepping through; revealing a Pichu, Aipom, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Teddiursa, Smoochum and Seedot, who all hid behind Lucian.

"Don't be shy." Suishou smiled warmly, "we're here to try to help you."

"He's scary..." peaking around Lucian's shoulder, the Pichu quietly mouthed, "he looks like a bad man..."

"Tomio isn't a bad person." Suishou soothed warmly, "he can show it by apologizing for scaring you before."

"Sorry." Tomio insincerely stated. "Your 'daddy' egged me on."

"Say it like you mean it!" Suishou turned and glared at him. "You scared these kids who had it just as bad as you!"

"Sorry, truly I am for making you think that I would be a threat to you." Tomio slowly trotted to them, hanging his head in misery. "I just want to help you in any way I can..."

"Prove it." Lucian grinned slightly. "Do something for them that is completely unselfish and was done solely for their benefit, and maybe they'll accept you."

"...What do you want?" Tomio sighed before looking into Lucian's smug expression.

"Let's ask them." Lucian turned to the children, "what do you want, starting with... Celes."

"Could we ask for some food?" the small Pichu looked up to him pleadingly.

"Of course you may Celes." He turned to Tomio, "you heard her, and I'm not cute enough to have people give me it, nor am I strong enough to take it by force, acquire some food for the children, if you'd be so kind."

Tomio turned to Suishou, nodding curtly before the two of them headed out the shadows of the doorway...
